Abstract: Jane Bower teaches the class how to remove a small strand of wool, layer it on bubblewrap in the shape of the sheep's head, use different colours for the eyes, nose and ears, and then use heat and friction to bond the strands together. The children proudly show off their completed sheep masks to the photographer.

Jane: Keep them small because if you just hold it, there will be lumps. They shouldn't be falling of the edges. People have been making this in lots of different parts of the world for thousands of years. It's one of the oldest ways we know of making fabric.

(Music is heard as they finish their design and then water is poured over the sheep masks. Then they begin to roll the masks while counting,an then uwrap them, lift them off the backing and rub them on the plastic.)

Jane: Tidy it up.

Jane: You just literally clean it.

Children: Clean it. Oh yeah...

Girl (to the photographer, holding up her completed sheep mask): Take a picture of mine.
