Abstract: In this first 1-min. clip we see primary school teacher Diane’s use of a recorded version of on-screen text, where she played an audio file of herself reading out a personal safety scenario for children (aged 10) to discuss. This use of recording brings a different voice to the classroom and allows the teacher to focus on the pupils’ reactions rather than on the act of reading. See Clip 2 for the pupils’ subsequent activity around this scenario.
