Abstract: | In the past 15 years many insights about multiple zeta values (MZVs) have come from the observation that they are homomorphic images of elements of the Hopf algebra QSym of quasi-symmetric functions. I will discuss some aspects of homomorphisms from QSym to the reals related to MZVs, including connections with topology and recent results on MZVs of even arguments. |
