Abstract: | Against the background of 40 years in operational forensic science, Professor Gallop considers how forensic science has changed and the impact this has had on the application of statistical approaches and availability of data to underpin them. She uses two complex cases to illustrate some important points, and concludes by considering some immediate issues which need to be tackled to avoid a new tranche of forensic science related miscarriages of justice in the future. |
