Abstract: In this lecture we will review methods for the local and global sensitivity analysis as well as a stochastic collocation approach for the quantification of uncertainty. These techniques can provide additional insight into given models as well as guide future research. However, they also come with their own computational challenges, which will be discussed. The methods are illustrated using some instructive examples from pattern formation.
