Abstract: The aim of this lecture is stimulate discussions on the development of new theoretical and computational models coupling internal (bulk), surface and external (extra-cellular matrix) dynamics for cell motility and pattern formation. Underpinning this framework are numerous open problems associated with analysis of the models, development of efficient and robust numerical methods as well as fitting models (qualitatively and quantitatively) to experimental observations (data) through optimal control models.
